Enjoy the beautiful weather of eastern North Carolina year-round in a custom built sunroom from Carolina Home Exteriors.
The common characteristics of a sunroom are that it is a room, typically on the back of a house, with an abundance of windows that make it possible to enjoy the outdoors while indoors. Beyond that, there is no standard description of a sunroom. They can be built using Energy Star rated windows for year round use or they can be EZE Breeze “three seasons” rooms. Both types of windows open to screen, allowing the homeowner to enjoy their room like a screen room during the milder weather of Spring and Fall.
Adding a sunroom can mean building from the ground up, building on an existing deck or patio, or simply converting an existing screen room to windows. If desired, they can include heat and air conditioning, electrical outlets and cable TV. Roofs can be built with conventional materials or they can be built using pre-engineered SIPS structural panels and the roof style can be studio (minimal pitch with no shingle), gable, hip or shed. If a floor or foundation is needed, it can be wood or concrete with matching brick skirt where appropriate.
Many of the choices above will depend on the homeowner’s anticipated uses of the room and budget. To see photos of the different types of sunrooms described above, just click on the related photo gallery button below.
